Preheat oven to 375F. Mix muffins according to diresctions on package.
Spoon mixture into prepared muffin tin or muffin papers. Fill cups 1/2 full.
Push 4 or 5 frozen cherries into each muffin. Divide remaining muffin mix over the cherries in each cup.
Beat cream cheese, sugar and egg until smooth. Spoon over muffins.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Makes 12 large muffins.
