perogy poutine


  • 30 g J&J Farmer Sausage
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp Notre Dame Butter
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 Garlic Garden garlic cloves minced (or Floating Gardens fresh chives)
  • 3 tbsp Floating Gardens fresh dill coarsely chopped 
  • 1 package Aunt Kathy's frozen potato and cheddar perogies
  • 1 ¼ cup prepared store-bought or homemade poultry or beef gravy
  • 200 g Bothwell Cheese Squeakrs cheese curds
  • salt and pepper to taste


Cut farmer sausage into manageable cooking chunks. Heat frying pan to "medium." (You can add half cup of water, although it's not necessary) Place your sausage in the pan. Cover the pan and heat for 10 minutes, turning the links once. Remove the cover and continue cooking for 10 minutes. Slice into bite sized pieces. 

Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a frying pan and cook onion, stirring often until golden and fried, 7 to 10 minutes.

Place perogies in a pot of medium boiling water. Boil for 3 to 5 minutes and remove from water using a slotted spoon. Add 1 tbsp of butter to frying pan and heat until it coats the pan. Add perogies and fry for 3-4 minutes per side.

Meanwhile, heat gravy.

Arrange perogies on a large dinner plate. Top warm perogies with cheese curds, fried onions, dill, gravy, sour cream and farmer sausage.
