In a small skillet soften onion, celery, and garlic in oil. Put vegetable broth, chutney, chopped sweet potatoes, carrots, and lentils in slow cooker. Add onion, celery, and garlic with oil from skillet. Stir in turmeric, salt, and pepper.
Cook on low for 5 hours. Add corn if desired.
To make creamier, add some plain yogurt as desired ( helps temper spice if too hot for some).
